Majura Lane, Sutton

This project involved the careful remodelling of two cottages that had been joined together via a link way on a rural property.

All internal linings in the timber framed cottage were removed to allow for new electrical and plumbing work and installation of wall insulation. Part of the other cottage was demolished and rebuilt with two new bathrooms and an extra living area. The floor was also raised to deliver a consistent level throughout the cottage and a larger more usable space. All new work was completed with cedar, double glazed windows and doors, and the highest rating insulation.

The new country kitchen gives the owners a generous space for entertaining and a hub for their future Bed & Breakfast, while the generous spotted gum deck offers delightful views of the surrounding valley.

The original charm of both cottages has been retained by the owner’s careful selection of bathroom tiles, fixtures and pressed metal cornice.
